Orchard Ridge Campus.

The original design concept for this community college directed the library and classrooms to be built under a significant rooftop garden. Decades later, after waterproofing failure and a need to upgrade the interior spaces, complete reconstruction was required for the rooftop spaces. The new concept features generous gathering spaces and circulation paths made of cast-in-place concrete configured with free-flowing edges and integrated with sensuous landforms. Major canopy trees, shrubs, and lawns provide a softening quality to help make the spaces attractive for human interaction.
